ABS in helmet application notes

Electric car / motorcycle helmet materials mainly include ABS engineering plastic, composite materials, fiberglass and carbon fiber and so on. Among them, the most common is the ABS engineering plastic material, namely PC + ABS (engineering plastic alloy).

ABS engineering plastics:

ABS engineering plastics, namely PC + ABS (engineering plastics alloy), in the chemical industry, the Chinese name is called plastic alloy, the reason why named PC + ABS, because this material has both the heat and weather resistance of PC resin, dimensional stability and impact resistance, but also has the excellent processing fluidity of ABS resin. So the application of thin-walled and complex shape products, can maintain its excellent performance, as well as to maintain the plastic and an ester composition of the material's molding properties.

ABS engineering plastics characteristics:

1, better overall performance, high impact strength, chemical stability, good electrical properties

2, and 372 organic glass with good fusion, made of two-color plastic parts, and can be surface chrome plating, spray paint treatment

3、High impact, high heat resistance, flame retardant, reinforced, transparent and other grades.

4, mobility than HIPS a little worse than PMMA, PC, etc., good flexibility

5, excellent balance of mechanical properties

6, low temperature also has a high impact strength

7, indoor ultraviolet stability

8, higher heat distortion temperature (80 ~ 125 ℃)

9, flame resistance (UL945VB)

10, Wide range of colors

11, easy to injection molding and extrusion, blow molding processing

12、Good plating properties

13、General density between 1.05-1.20

ABS engineering material injection molding process conditions.

Drying treatment:Drying treatment before processing is necessary. Humidity should be less than 0.04%, recommended drying conditions are 90~110C, 2~4 hours.

Melting temperature: 230~300C.

Mold temperature:50~100C.

Injection Pressure:Depends on the molded part.

Injection speed:as high as possible.
